Stirling Tastes Good
Allanwater Brewhouse

The Allanwater brewhouse is a multi faceted operation covering many aspects of the tourism industry based in the Beautiful Scotland Silver medal award winning village of Bridge of Allan. Located in an off street location the brewhouse has to be sought out by those in the know or driven to the business by the marketing programme which attracts tourists from all over the world not just to the visitor centre where they enjoy free entry, tours and tasting of award winning beers but also to Bridge of Allan in general to enjoy the wonderful selection of shops and restaurants.

The basic contribution of the brewhouse is true Scottish Hospitality where the highly trained staff offer a warm welcome to new and returning visitors and regular customers. Here they will learn the secrets and skills of the brewer hand crafting a skill that we have used in Scotland for thousands of years. They will learn about our 100% pure natural ingredients that we use in the brewing process with no preservatives or additives. They can sample a range of 8 different constantly changing cask conditioned beers presented and dispensed in a style unique to the United Kingdom. The shop area offers a diverse range of locally made products from bottles of beer, brewery clothing, printed glass ware, beer shampoo and conditioner to home baked dog beer treats made from the spent grain, yeast and beer left over in the brewing process.

The Brewhouse also offers meeting facilities for business and corporate or family events and in the evenings private parties can hire the facilities for exclusive use of a unique facility.

The Allanwater brewhouse also helps to educate our children in the natural ingredients and the making of beer and its many chemical reactions and we work with the local primary school, groups of overseas children and some secondary schools. The older young people we work with are from Perth College, Herriot Watt Brewing School and local scout groups where we not only sing the praise of beer and all its social aspects but also the dangers of alcohol in general.

Allanwater Brewhouse attends events throughout the country promoting not only the brewhouse and its range of beers but also tourism in the Stirling area. Events attended include VisitScotland Expo, Royal Highland Show, Scottish real ale festival in Edinburgh, Stirling and Bridge of Allan Highland games and many local events such as Auchterarders Lang Toon and Scribblers Picnic. The brewhouse also helps to support numerous local charities with fund raising events our most recent being "The Neverest Challenge" on behalf of Speur-Ghlan Early Intervention Service based at the Innovation Park at the university.

The Allanwater Brewhouse prides its self in being, as described by a tourism journalist, "The Jewel in Bridge of Allans crown" and we will continue to promote all that is good in our wonderfully vibrant and energetic village with every breath and action.
